I have worked for several years now with Northern apprentices. Each year they are set a project by their teachers to research improvements for a particular station and to involve community groups often schools in the project .
In projects where children’s work is exhibited in a public place there is a “safeguarding” issue where a child wants to sign their work as they do because they are proud of it. What I have done in projects and this is an example , is to ask the children to develop a secret code and sign their work with that .
This artwork used children’s paintings of patterns of tessellations and concentric designs .
